Ángel G. Piñero's
Great Innovation.
Tradicionally there exist two techniques which have become two schools for playing the classical guitar:
• the plucking of the strings with the fingertips.
(soft and deep sonority).
• the plucking of the strings with the nails.
(metallic and brillant sonority).
Forever all the guitar players had to choose between them as they are incompatible as one requires to play with short nails and the other with long nails.
Miguel de Fuenllana, Fernando Sor, Francisco Tárrega and Emilio Pujol are the main exponent of the cultivation of the school with the plucking with the fingertips and Dionisio Aguado, Miguel Llobet, Andrés Segovia and others are, in the same way, exponents of the cultivation of the school of plucking with the nails. Angel G. Piñero has studied twice the guitar, once with the right hand (plucking the strings with the fingertips for the music from the Renaissance) and the other with the left hand (plucking the strings with the nails, for the music from the Baroque, Neoclassic, romantic and contemporanean) and, in this way cultivate both schools and present them to the public in his concerts.
It is the first time in the History of the Guitar that a concert player can present both Schools in one concert.
